About The Owner/Manager.
Ravenswood Guest House is owned and managed by Stuart Wilson.
The owner of Ravenswood Guest House is Stuart Wilson, who decided in 2007 he wanted to have a career change and now manages all aspects of running the guest house, from food purchasing and hygiene to bed making and cleaning.
He grew up in a village just north of Stirling and is always on hand to give advice on the best places to visit and eat in the area.
Stuart is a keen Triathlete and Mountain Biker.
In June 2012, Stuart successfully completed the new Scottish Celtman Extreme Triathlon in 16 hours 19 minutes. This involved swimming 3.2 km in the icy waters of Loch Sheldaig, cycling 202 km around Wester Ross and running 42 km through the Coulin Pass and over the Beinn Eighe mountain range.
In August 2013 he completed Ironman UK in Bolton in a time of 11 hours, 59 minutes and 16 seconds. Stuart had to sprint the final 2 miles of the run to ensure he got under his personal target of 12 hours. That was after swimming 2.4 miles in Pennington Flash, cycling 112 miles around the Rivington area and running a full marathon around Bolton!
In 2014 Stuart competed in the Selkirk Mountain Bike Marathon and Fraserburgh Half Marathon. He also started Glenogle 33 Ultramarathon, unfortunately falling after 3 miles and ending up in hospital with a bad cut to his leg. Oops!
In 2015, he entered the Alloa Half Marathon, Selkirk MTB Marathon, Aberfeldy half Ironman and Ironman Majorca. Stuart is also running to support one his friends in the Celtman Extreme Triathlon. It’s going to be a busy year of training and competing!
In 2016, he focussed on mountain biking, competing in 10 Under The Ben, Selkirk MTB Marathon and Tour de Ben Nevis. Also completed his 2nd Ultra Marathon, running 36 miles along the stunning Northumberland coast line.
2017 is going to be busy… already had a road bike training week in southern Spain. Will be running in Alloa Half Marathon and Stirling Marathon. Mountain biking in two races around Fort William. Road biking in a race in the Cairngorm National Park and if not too tired going back to UK Ironman to swim, bike and run round Bolton.
